Bringing mobile phone-based smut to the masses is a billion dollar business, but many mobile phone operators aren’t buying into that business as readily as Vodafone. Already, Europe is steeped in tens of millions of dollars worth of mobile porn, with Vodafone a major provider (dubbed Vodafilth in Britain).
The Australian (28 March 2006)reports that Vodafone is expected to begin offering similar services to adult subscribers in Australia in October or November. Under Australian regulations, Vodafone could offer services rated up to R18+.
ACTION: Write to Vodafone and express you concern. This is something we really do not want or need. Are you prepared to switch mobile phone carriers?
