Simply select your State or Territory, above, and for links to email your Ministers and MPs.

You can find out which electorate you are in and details of all your MP's (Federal and State) just by clicking here and entering your suburb or postcode - or by ringing the Australian Electoral Commission on 13 2326.

Put off by the thought of writing really profound letters to all those legislators?

Hint: keep your email to as few sentences as possible. It's a little known fact. The shorter, the better. Just get the point across.

For example...

Dear Sir/Madam,

As a young Australian, I am concerned about the number of abortions funded by Medicare.

When the time comes to vote on this issue, can I count on you to vote against government funding of abortion?

Please reply so I can tell all my friends.

Yours Sincerely,
(you)

The sample letter contains key elements that you should include:

1. indentify your demographic (young Aussie)

2. go straight to the point (abortion funding)

3. ask them to vote for or against something

4. ask them to tell you how they will vote

5. add weight to your letter by telling them you will inform your friends, church, school or club, etc

6. One more important point:

If you receive a reply that doesn't answer you; that just seems like a form letter ("I will be taking your thoughts into consideration...", write back to them!

They are your employees & a non-answer isn't good enough.

You can send a copy of your first email again. Just put something like this sentence first:

As you did not specifically reply to questions in my last email I am respectfully resending it as follows.
